Lo si può vedere nei campi, nelle botteghe, nei cantieri e sicuramente in questa schiera rientrano i trainatori di pousse-pousse, il tipico risciò malgascio che è uno dei mezzi di spostamento più usato in molte città.
Ne esistono di diverse tipologie, ma quello che li accomuna è il fatto di essere sempre coloratissimi e spesso delle piccole opere d’arte in movimento, richiamano sempre l’attenzione dei passanti.
In Madagascar tutti utilizzano il pousse-pousse ogni giorno, dagli studenti ai lavoratori, alle donne che vanno e vengono dai mercati. E’ l’alternativa più economica ai bus e taxi, ma è anche il mezzo più comodo per passare nelle stradine strette ed affollate dei centri città.
La capitale del suo utilizzo è senza dubbio Antsirabe, ma è molto diffuso e comune in tutte le principali città del Madagascar.
Anche per i turisti è una piacevole attrazione, vengono organizzati dei veri e propri city-tour in pousse-pousse dove si viaggia cullati dal ritmo dei passi del trainatore e si vede il paesaggio e la vita locale sfilare lentamente ai lati.
Colpisce molto l’immaginario locale, spesso per i bambini rientra tra i lavori che desidererebbero fare da grande.[:en]In Madagascar, many of the most practiced jobs are those that still require human strength. In Madagascar everyone uses pousse-pousse every day, from students to workers, to women who come and go from the markets. It is the cheapest alternative to buses and taxis, but it is also the most convenient way to go through the narrow and crowded streets of the city centers.
The capital of its use is undoubtedly Antsirabe, but it is widespread and common in all the main cities of Madagascar.
Even for tourists it is a pleasant attraction, real city tours are organized in pousse-pousse where you travel lulled by the rhythm of the steps of the rider and you can see the landscape and local life slowly parading on the sides.
